FROM THE 'BLUE MAHOE' 2019 GRADUATE COLLECTION

JACQUARD
'Portland'
The hand-designed jacquard collection draws on inspiration from tropical elements of drawings supporting the 'Blue Mahoe' project. Cotton and silk are intertwined, with a contrast of twills to create textural qualities, perfect for soft furnishings.

'Portland', 'Ocho' & 'Hudson' Jacquard samples hand-designed, inspired by the textural and tropical qualities of paintings from the collection.
HANDWOVEN
'Purple Domain'
Using hand-dyed 100% silk yarn, a luxurious selection of five hand-woven samples were made using a dobby loom over the course of four weeks, to feature as the main show-stopping fabrics for my Graduate Degree Show.
Inspired by the contrast between the textures of Jamaica and the metropolitan might of London, the fabrics are dominated by subtle twills and bold dip-dyed stripes which unite harmoniously to create a collection rich in colour and lustre.

PRINTS

Hand-drawn paintings are applied to luxurious
300gsm Sara Linen Blend for the ultimate union of vibrant colour and tropical elements for Interior soft furnishings. The signature painterly effect gives a sense of art combining with interiors, combiningg nature with textiles in a unique and contemporary way.
