My cultural provenance in Jamaica inspired this nostalgic, panoramic painting of Port Antonio. Despite the harmonious beauty of nature, I wanted to capture the intensely fascinating textures of decaying wood which made the painting have a real sense of character and story. 

I hope the viewers feel a sense of story when they view the painting, which demands the eye to scan across from left to right and read into the details. Despite the use of acrylics for the painting giving a predominantly flat physical texture, the painting gives an illusion of huge depth through an intense, thoughtfully controlled application of transparent layers to create a detailed and beautiful account of world culture.
